I hope this shot was worth the pain. We wanted some photos of American road signs and saw the potential in this one. Just one problem, this particular piece of road was rignt alongside marshland, and in New Hampshire in May the black flies are just beginning to wake up. And they like marshland. But they love human! I discovered this to my discomfort that evening while I dealt with about 30 bites on my legs, arms, ankles, hands, head, etc, etc! This was the only shot we managed of road signs in the end as neither of us would get out of the car again in fear of being eaten alive!
