We went out on a mission to find some round straw bales to photograph, see our other photos 'BALES AND BLUE SKY' and ''MINI ROLLS'. We failed miserably on this day. But we did spot this great big yellow combine sitting empty at the side of a stubble field just gagging to be photographed. There was nobody in sight so obviously we parked up and set the tripod up in front of it. It was quite an intimidating experience. Then just after we'd set up a van arrived and a couple of guys got out. We wondered what was going on but soon realised they were the farmers come to finish harvesting. We thought we'd get a rollicking for being in their field. As it turned out they were a couple of really nice guys, offering to position the combine wherever we wanted it and even offering us a ride in it! Anyway, they said that they needed to warm the machine up but it was alright, they didn't need to go anywhere just yet! Like we said the combine was intimidating while sat there silent, but this was quite unnerving standing there with the thing fired up! We packed up soon after this shot was taken! But it made our summer, especially when I got to ride in it, I was like a little boy in a sweet shop!
